1-vs-100 Cluster Luck

This is the closest I got to playing 1-vs-100 on the European beta launch before I got immediately booted out, so maybe I should be proud of that. While I like the idea of a massively multiplayer game show (and kind of surprised Nintendo hasn't done something like this sooner) there's still going to be the inherent flaw that NO ONE WILL GET TO PLAY IT!

Sure there are roughly 100 to 200 slots per show with a regular rotation of players, but when you consider the 17+ million people on Xbox LIVE coupled with the predictable connection issues of a world simultaneously logging in it's gonna make for a wholly unsatisfying experience.

Now I know not everyone might be interest in playing the game, but there isn't even the opportunity to spectate a show taking place. Y'know, like TV. You're either in or your out. Generally the latter.

iPadio NOT Live + Audioblogging Conference Calls...?

I was going to put up a luvverly picture with this post bust realised it showed my iPadio PIN, and feeling paranoid that others could then hijack my account I took it down. (Now if Posterous just let me upload an edited pic that would be grand!)

[UPDATE]

I received an email from Mark Smith, CEO of iPadio that may answer some of the issues I raised in the podcast:

Wotcha Jake

Helpful comments – thoughts below:

Try this for live: http://www.ipadio.com/liveadvert.htm 4-8 second delay

Conference calling yes you can, this is me calling tanni then calling ipadio www.ipadio.com/tanni

Your own live you can see http://www.ipadio.com/phlogs/JakeFudge/ (click top right)

We only post to twitter on close off of call – we are planning on posting to twitter as call starts shortly – live state is hardest to do because of concurrency issues – hence it’s a little bit hidden and obscure.

Cheers

Mark

Ps We have given you a means to automatically post to posterious yesterday – see admin under soc net tab.

Phlog'd to Death

So me and @caffeinebomb are getting into a little discussion over the proprietary nature of iPhone apps (i.e. AudioBoo), when it's suggested by @psythor to try out the alternatives - Enter iPadio
